Adit is the George F. Carrier Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. He completed his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science (EECS) at MIT and was a Ph.D. fellow at the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He received his M.Eng. in EECS and Bachelor’s of Science in Math and EECS from MIT. Adit has been meeting regularly with the Manifold Valley Machine Learning Team since 2022.
Deanan was the Chief Technology Officer of the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, bringing the venue to launch in 2023. He is also the former CTO of Red Digital Cinema during its first five years of development. Deanan began advising the Manifold Valley Team in 2023.
Siobhán Hofma is an expert in motion capture, games, animation, VFX, and immersive experiences, specializing in hyper-realistic digital humans and 3D interactive characters. She was a founding member of IKINEMA, which was acquired by Apple in 2019 for their Vision Pro, ARKit, and RealityKit. At IKINEMA, she led Sales, Marketing, and Creative operations, contributing to innovative technology like the IKINEMA INTiMATE Project and Studio framework. In 2021, she launched Instinctively Real Media, a global creative agency. Her portfolio includes projects with Animatrik Film Design, AltspaceVR, Digital Domain, Epic Games, Microsoft Studios, NASA Hybrid Reality Lab, NVIDIA Holodeck, and UBISOFT.
Mark is a passionate technologist working in filmmaking, post production, content creation and related product design and software development for over 20 years. He specializes in the design and implementation of emerging technologies and workflow for production and post production tools. He is the co-founder of Orbiter, Color Intelligence and OFFHOLLYWOOD. Mark has began advising Manifold Valley in 2022.
Ian is the cross-disciplinary visionary talent behind Manifold Valley, His background as a cinematographer, programmer, and entrepreneur has given him a unique skill set that blends technical prowess and artistic fluency. A graphics programmer since childhood, Ian wrote a game rendering engine in high school and grew up in a household that was also a mechanical engineering startup. This early start cultivated his strong natural talent for algorithm design and “close to the metal” programming. His experiences managing software complexity have led him to prefer strongly typed functional programming languages like Haskell.Despite his deep roots in software development, Ian has spent most of his career as a cinematographer and serial entrepreneur in the film industry. He has filmed over a dozen feature films and countless commercials, gaining a keen understanding of how to create work environments where great actors can thrive. This experience inspired the inception of Manifold Valley’s innovative methodology for performance capture.For the past 6 years Ian has been focused on applying the science of machine learning to film and game production founding Manifold Valley as an ML laboratory in 2021.
Tyler is a seasoned film producer with extensive experience in the industry. Over his career, he has produced eight feature films, including "Dragged Across Concrete," "What They Had," and "Rudderless." Tyler also served as a Senior Producer for MrBeast, the largest YouTube channel globally. His deep understanding of storytelling and visual techniques uniquely positions him to lead the transition to ML powered performance capture for the next generation of video games.
Sandy is a distinguished software engineer and the renowned author of three books on theoretical computer science including “Algebra Driven Design”. With a deep understanding of programming languages and compilers, he has made significant contributions to Haskell and Agda. His industry experience includes working as an engineer for Google, Facebook and on AAA games at EA. He enjoys creating his own game engines for fun. Sandy is currently also a full time developer on the Manifold Valley compiler team.
